tunesday | chez damier – untitled

the music institute, kms, prescription: anthony pearson aka chez damier has dedicated his life to electronic music. from setting up the music institute in detroit with alton miller and george baker in 1987 to working for kms and founding prescription records with ron trent.

in 1993 damier released the untitled ep on kevin saunderson´s kms. while the two tracks on the b-side are more disco-infused, the real gem is the deep and stripped down a-side: a mimalistic and hypnotic pulse-led groove with heavy chord stabs and an odd vocal sample.

timeless underground dance music and a sound factory classic.
