tunesday - rhythm controll - my house

chicago´s one-off project rhythm controll by chuck roberts, claudius parker, darrell bruce abbott and tony lewis only released „my house“, but the now legendary record went on to have a major impact on the whole house music scene, due to the acapella part, spoken by roberts, which was later sampled on hundreds of different titles over the years.

put out in 1987 on the short-lived catch a beat records, it is probably the anthem of all anthems. chuck roberts spoken word discusses the feeling and meaning of house music. a sort of testament about house, the importance of jack, the true spirit of the genre and its universal nature. in 1988 the speech was used in a remix of „can you feel it“ and was overlayed over larry heard´s original instrumental.

let there be house!
